November 7, 2025

On November 7, 2025, at approximately 11:37am Oelwein Officers arrested Clorissa Jo Miller-Fuller, 25, of Oelwein. Miller-Fuller was arrested on a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury – 1st Offense – Aggravated Misdemeanor. Miller-Fuller was placed into custody in the 300 block of 8th Ave SE, following a reported incident earlier in the day in the 10 block of 2nd Ave NW.

November 6. 2025

At 6:45pm on November 5, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Lynette June Knickerbocker, 28, of West Union.  Knickerbocker was charged with Disorderly Conduct (Loud/Raucous Noise) - Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made in the 10 block of 1st Ave NE following multiple reports of an individual causing a disturbance.

November 5, 2025

At 1:40am on November 4, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Darin Eugene Halstead, 61, of Oelwein.  Halstead was charged with Assault - Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made in the 900 block of 1st Ave NE following reports of fighting in the area.

 

At 8:30am on November 4, 2025, Oelwein Police charged a 16-year-old male juvenile with Minor Using Tobacco/Vape Products.  The juvenile was issued a citation and released to guardians following a report of a student possessing a vape pen at Oelwein High School.

October 28, 2025

At 12:39pm on October 26, 2025, Oelwein Police charged Ashton John Seeders, 20, of Sumner, with Reckless Driving following a traffic stop in the 10 block of 1st St SW.  Seeders was issued a citation and a summons to court for the infraction.

 

At 2:35pm on October 27, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Kayleigh Jane Harger, 39, of Oelwein.  Harger was arrested on a Linn County warrant for original charges of 2nd Degree Burglary - Class C Felony and Domestic Abuse Assault - Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made in the 200 block of 5th Ave NE.

October 27, 2025

At 10:40am on October 24, 2025, Oelwein Police charged a 10-year-old male juvenile with Minor Using Tobacco/Vape Product 2nd Offense.  The juvenile was issued a citation for the infraction and released to guardians.  This offense was related to an initial report of students using vape devices at Oelwein Middle School reported on October 22, 2025.

 

At 2:06pm on October 26, 2025, Oelwein Police charged Mikel John Sullivan, 21, of Oelwein, with 5th Degree Theft - Simple Misdemeanor.  Sullivan was issued a summons to court for the offense after officers investigated a report of theft in the 2100 block of S Frederick Ave that was reported on October 25, 2025.

October 22, 2025

At 1:05pm on October 22, 2025, Oelwein Police charged a 10-year-old female juvenile with Minor Using Tobacco/Vape Product 1st Offense.  The juvenile was issued a citation for the infraction and released to guardians following a report of juveniles possessing vape devices at Oelwein Middle School.

 

At 7:32pm on October 22, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Randy Lee Reynolds Jr., 39, of Oelwein.  Reynolds was charged with Assault with Intent to Cause Pain/Injury - Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made following a report of an assault that occurred in the 900 block of 2nd Ave NE.

October 21, 2025

On October 20, 2025, at approximately 3:20pm, Oelwein Officers arrested Kyle Lee Browne, 50, of Oelwein. Browne was arrested on a Fayette County warrant for Failure to Appear – Original charge Possession of a Controlled Substance – 2nd Offense. Browne was also charged with Dominion/Control of Firearm/Offensive Weapon by Domestic Abuser – Class D Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana – 2nd Offense – Serious Misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Simple Misdemeanor. This arrest took place in the 1100 block of West Charles.

October 19, 2025

On October 19, 2025, at approximately 7:38, Oelwein Officers investigated a two-vehicle accident in the 500 block of 6th St NE. As a result of the investigation, it was learned that a 2007 Cadillac CTS, driven by a 16-year-old male from Oelwein, collided with a parked 2012 Buick Regal. The Cadillac suffered approximately $1,500 of damage and the Regal suffered approximately $3,000 in damage.

October 18, 2025

At 12:10am on October 17, 2025, Oelwein Police charged Colton Ray Baker, 29, of Maynard, with Driving While License Suspended.  Baker was issued a citation and a summons to court for the offense following a traffic stop at the intersection of S Frederick Ave and 4th St SW.

 

At around 2:00pm on October 17, 2025, Oelwein Police charged two 16-year-old male juveniles for tobacco violations following a report of students with tobacco products at Oelwein High School.  Each juvenile was cited for Minor Using Tobacco/Vape Device 3rd or Subsequent Offense.  Both juveniles were released to guardians afterwards.

October 17,2025

OELWEIN PUBLIC SAFETY CITY OF OELWEIN, IOWA Media Release DATE: October 17, 2025 Release: Early Morning Stabbing Incident Leads to Arrest At approximately 4:32 a.m. on Friday, October 17th, 2025, an Oelwein Police officer was on patrol and observed a vehicle driving erratic and at a high rate of speed. As the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the Fayette County Emergency Dispatch Center advised that they had received a report of a stabbing and that the victim was on their way to the hospital. The officer continued to follow this vehicle to the hospital and discovered two stabbing victims in the car. Assistance was provided to the victims and they were taken into the MercyOne Emergency Room. During the course of the investigation, Oelwein Officers and Fayette County Deputies learned that an altercation occurred in the 10 block of 3rd St NW, inside of a residence. Officers investigated the scene of the incident and made the following arrest: 1) Nicholas Michel Spratt, 42 of Oelwein: Assault Willful Injury-Causing Serious Injury Class C Felony - Count 1 Assault Willful Injury-Causing Serious Injury Class C Felony - Count 2 Child Endangerment - Aggravated Misdemeanor The Oelwein Police Department was assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, the Oelwein Fire Department, and MercyOne Hospital. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the Fayette County Jail pending an initial appearance. Additional charges are pending, and this case is still under investigation.
