Release: Area Burglary Investigations – Arrests Made

                               

            The Oelwein Police Department has made arrests related to a local burglary with more charges anticipated.

On October 4, 2020, at approximately 4:09 p.m., Oelwein police officers executed a search warrant at 12 6th Avenue NE. Officers located and seized numerous items associated with recent burglary attempts and burglaries to occupied and unoccupied structures. In addition, illegal firearms and controlled substances were seized.

Two subjects were detained and subsequently arrested for the following:

On October 3, 2020 at 7:36 A.M., Oelwein Officers were called to the 400 block 2nd AV NE for a report of a Theft.  This incident remains under investigation

October 2, 2020

On October 2, 2020 at 8:28 A.M., Oelwein Officers were called to the 10 block 5th AV SE for a report of a Burglary.  This incident remains under investigation

On October 1, 2020 at 1:20 A.M., Oelwein Officers were called to the 200 block 6thAV SE for a report of a Theft.  This incident remains under investigation

September 30. 2020

On September 30, 2020 at 12:50 P.M., Oelwein Officers were called to the 10 block 7thAV SE for a report of a Theft.  This incident remains under investigation

September 29. 2020

On September 29, 2020 at 2:53 p.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a disturbance reported in the 100 block of 2md ST NW.  Officers arrested Alanda Nevelle Starkey, age 36 of Oelwein on a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault, Aggravated Misdemeanor.

    

September 25. 2020

On September 25, 2020 at 5:12 P.M., Oelwein Officers were called to the 200 block 3rd AV SE for a report of a Theft.  This incident remains under investigation

September 20,2020

At approximately 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20th, Oelwein Police communications received a report of an altercation in the 200 block of 2nd Ave NE. Investigation of the incident resulted in the arrest of 51 year old Kenneth Alan Thornton of Aurora. Thornton was charged with Going Armed with Intent, a class D felony.

September 10, 2020

On September 10, 2020 at 8:06 P.M., Oelwein Police were adv of a child abduction that had occurred in Oelwein in the 10 block of 6th ST NW.  Officers investigated and the suspect vehicle was located in Black Hawk County by the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office.  Arrested were Raquel Virginia Bowser, 31, of Oelwein and Justin Kyle Green, 27, of West Union.  Both suspects have been charged with Child Stealing- Class C Felony.  The Oelwein Police Department was assisted by the Black Hawk County Sheriffs Department.
