At 3:38 pm on August 16, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested Jeffrey Tad Schuler, 50, of Oelwein.  Schuler was arrested on a Fayette County warrant for an original Charge of Animal Abuse in the 10 block of 5th Ave SE.

At 9:30 pm on August 16, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested Rory Saben May, 19, of Winthrop.  May was arrested on two Fayette County warrants for original charges of Theft 5th Degree, Supplying Alcohol to a Minor, and Possessing/Purchasing Alcohol by Person 18 to 20 years old in the 1 block of 1st Ave SE

At 10:43 pm on August 12, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested Amanda Jean Steggall, 38, of Oelwein.  Steggall was arrested on a Fayette County warrant for an original charge of seven counts of Animal Neglect with No Injury – Simple Misdemeanor in the 1000 block of 1^st Ave SW.

At 10:43 pm on August 12, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested Douglas Alan Clark, 35, of Houston.  Clark was arrested on a Fayette County warrant for an original charge of seven counts of Animal Neglect with No Injury – Simple Misdemeanor in the 1000 block of 1^st Ave SW.

At 5:10 pm on August 13, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested Kimberly Marie Schoultz, 54, of Oelwein.  Schoultz was arrested on a Fayette County warrant for an original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Aggravated Misdemeanor in the 10 block of 1^st Ave SE.  Schoultz received an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance –Aggravated Misdemeanor during the arrest.

Oelwein Police investigated a motor vehicle accident in the 300 block of West Charles St at 2:09 pm on August 15, 2023.  A white 2022 Chevrolet Box Van driven by Connor Lee Brown collided with the viaduct on West Charles St.  Initial estimates of damages were $5,000 to the vehicle driven by Brown and $1,000 to the viaduct.

At 2:10 pm on August 15, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested Joshua Lee Alitz, 45, of Oelwein.  Alitz was arrested on a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault - Serious Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made after a disturbance was reported in the 200 block of 2^nd St NW.

At 4:51 pm on August 11, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile.  The juvenile was arrested in the 800 block of 2^nd Ave NE on a Fayette County Juvenile Court Order for original charges of Burglary 3^rd Degree, Person Ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons, Minor Armed with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

At 10:01 pm on August 10, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested Matthew James Nolan, 48, of Oelwein.  Nolan was arrested on a charge of Assault Causing Bodily Injury or Mental Illness – Serious Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made following reports of a fight in the 800 block of East Charles Street.

At 10:33 pm on August 2, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested Jared Michael Richardson, 29, of Oelwein.  Richardson was arrested on a charge of Criminal Mischief 3^rd Degree – Aggravated Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made following a report of vandalism of property in the 10 block of 1^st St SW.

At 11:53 pm on August 2, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested William Frederick Blume, 59, of Hazleton.  Blume was arrested on a charge of Attempted Burglary 3^rd Degree – Aggravated Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made following a report of an attempted break-in in the 100 block of 7^th St SW.

At 1:51 pm on July 29, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested Brandi Renee Rogers, 41, of Charles City.  Rogers was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) - Serious Misdemeanor, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) – Serious Misdemeanor, and Theft in the 5^th Degree – Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made following a report of theft in the 2000 block of South Frederick Ave.

At 4:56 pm on July 31, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested Daniel Joseph Hartney, 28, of Oelwein.  Hartney was arrested on a charge of Driving While License Suspended.  This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 200 block of 4^th Ave SE.

At 3:14 pm on August 1, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested Dizney Marie Willenborg, 23, of Oelwein.  Willenborg was arrested on a Fayette County warrant for an original charge of Assault in the 20 block of 5^th St NW.

At 12:49 pm on July 25, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested Rachel Ann Latham, 50, of Oelwein.  Latham was arrested on a Fayette County warrant for an original charge of Probation Violation in the 1500 block of South Frederick Ave.

At 6:16 am on July 26, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested Kashell Elexsis Allison, 29, of Oelwein.  Allison was arrested on a charge of Driving While Revoked – OWI.  This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 700 block of 2^nd Ave SE.

At 9:42 pm on July 27, 2023 Oelwein police arrested Charles Edward Hancock, 37, of Oelwein.  Hancock was arrested on a charge of Public Intoxication.  This arrest was made after a complaint was made about a male passed out in someone’s front yard in the 200 block of 2^nd St SE.  Hancock was also arrested on a Fayette County warrant for an original charge of Habitual Offender (Property).

At 2:08 am on July 28, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested Pierce Ashton Curby, 25, of Oelwein.  Curby was arrested on a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Bodily Injury – Serious Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made after a disturbance was reported in the 700 block of South Frederick Ave.

On July 24, 2023 at 3:20 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Bruce Allan Werden, age 57 of Quasqueton, on a Buchanan County Sheriff's warrant for Probation Violation on an original charge of 1st Offense Possession of Methamphetamine.

Oelwein Officers responded to the 200 block of West Charles on July 25, 2023 at 7:40 a.m., for reported Criminal Mischief.  This incident remains under investigation.

Oelwein Police investigated a motor vehicle accident in the 100 block of 2nd St SE at 12:45 pm on July 20, 2023.  A red 2012 GMC Acadia driven by Diane Dahl collided with a maroon 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Norma Tripp.  Initial estimates of damages were $500 to the vehicle driven by Dahl and $500 to the vehicle driven by Tripp.

At 1:33 pm on July 18th, 2023 Oelwein Police arrested Kristy Ranae Heidt, 53, of Oelwein.  Heidt was arrested on a Fayette County warrant for an original charge of Failure to Appear in the 300 block of 7th Ave SW.
