Release: Two Friday Evening Search Warrants Executed - Arrests Made

At approximately 5:20 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, the Oelwein Police Department executed a search warrant in the 100 block of North Frederick in Oelwein. During the course of the search warrant, illegal controlled substances were located and seized. The following subjects have been arrested and charged:

  • Michael Andrew Seeders, 28 of Oelwein:

Possession With Intent to Deliver Marijuana under 50 kilograms - Class D Felony

Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp - Class D Felony

Possession of Controlled Substance - Marijuana 1st Offense - Serious Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Simple Misdemeanor

  • Cameron Ray Seeders, 22 of Oelwein:

Possession of Controlled Substance Marijuana 1st Offense. (Serious Misdemeanor) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Simple Misdemeanor

  • Collin Michael Ricchio, 21 of Oelwein:

Possession of Controlled Substance Psilocybin 1st Offense - Serious Misdemeanor

Possession of Controlled Substance Marijuana 1st Offense -  Serious Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor)

          At approximately 5:25 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, the Oelwein Police Department executed a search warrant in the 10 block of 7th St. NW in Oelwein. During the course of the search warrant, illegal controlled substances were located and seized. The following subjects have been arrested and charged:

  • Michael James Seeders, 47 of Oelwein

Possession With Intent to Deliver Psilocybin a Schedule I Controlled Substance - Class C Felony

Possession With Intent to Deliver Marijuana Under 50 kilograms - Class Felony

Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp Over 7 Grams Psilocybin Substances - Class D Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Simple Misdemeanor

  • Karen Anne Seeders, 43 of Oelwein

Possession With Intent to Deliver Psilocybin a Schedule I Controlled Substance - Class C Felony

Possession With Intent to Deliver Marijuana Under 50 kilograms - Class Felony

Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp Over 7 Grams Psilocybin Substances - Class D Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Simple Misdemeanor

          The subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Fayette County Jail pending an initial appearance. Additional charges are pending, and these cases are still under investigation. The Oelwein Police Department was assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

October 18, 2024

At 8:17pm on October 17, 2024, Oelwein Police charged Austin Cody Maire, 28, of Oelwein, with Driving While License Suspended.  Maire was cited and released with a summons to appear following a traffic stop in the 400 block of 1st Ave SE.

 

At 9:19pm on October 17, 2024, Oelwein Police arrested Jayden Michael Heidt, 22, of Oelwein.  Heidt was arrested on a Fayette County warrant for an original charge of 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief - Aggravated Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made in the 100 block of 1st Ave SE.

October 17, 2024

On Tuesday October 15th, at approximately 5:30pm, Oelwein Officers arrested Chester Michael Jones,44, of Oelwein on a Fayette County arrest warrant. Jones was arrested on original charges of Domestic Abuse Assault – 1st offense. This arrest took place in the 700 block of 2nd Avenue S.E.

October 7, 2024

At Approximately 7:45pm on Monday October 7, 2024, Oelwein officers arrested Anthony James Taylor, 41, of Oelwein on charges of Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations – Serious Misdemeanor, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Simple Misdemeanor, Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana 3rd or Subsequent Offense – Aggravated Misdemeanor, and Interference with Official Acts – Simple Misdemeanor. Taylor was taken into custody following an incident in the 100 block of 12th Avenue Northwest.

October 5, 2024

At 9:45am on October 4th, 2024, Oelwein Police cited a 14-year-old male juvenile with Minor Using Tobacco/Vape Device 2nd Offense.  This citation was issued following a report of a juvenile caught with a vape pen at Oelwein High School.  The juvenile was released to a guardian and the matter has been referred to Juvenile Court.

 

At 1:12am on October 5th, 2024, Oelwein Police arrested Shane Alen Bratten, 54, of Oelwein.  Bratten was charged with 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief - Class D Felony and 1st Degree Harassment - Aggravated Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made in the 400 block of W Charles St following an initial report of burglary that occurred in the 100 block of 6th Ave SW.

 

At 4:01am on October 5th, 2024, Oelwein Police arrested Edward Dean Corbin Jr, 66, of Oelwein.  Corbin was charged with Operating While Under the Influence 1st Offense - Serious Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 300 block of N Frederick Ave.

October 1, 2024

On October 1st, 2024, at approximately 2:15pm, Oelwein Officers arrest Dallas Wade Shannon,49, of Oelwein, on a Fayette County Arrest Warrant for original charge of Domestic Abuse Assault – 2nd Offense – Serious Misdemeanor. Shannon was taken into custody in the 2600 block of South Frederick.

 

At approximately 6:10pm, Oelwein Officers also arrested Robert Allen Latham,50, Of Oelwein on Charges of Operating While Under the Influence – 3rd or subsequent offense – Class D Felony and Driving While License Revoked. Latham was also cited for Open Container. These charges stem from a traffic stop in the 10 block of 1st Avenue S.E.

September 27, 2024

On September 27, 2024, at approximately 6:00pm, Oelwein Police Officers arrested Amanda Marie Steggall, 43, on an active Fayette County warrant for Failure To Appear – Show Cause Hearing. Steggall was taken into custody following an incident in the 500 block of 3rd Avenue SE.

September 27,2024

At 8:45am on September 26, 2024, Oelwein Police arrested a 15-year-old male juvenile.  The juvenile was charged with Trespassing 1st Offense - Simple Misdemeanor and Interference with Official Acts - Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made following reports of a disorderly student at the Parkside School.  The juvenile was released to their guardians and the matter has been referred to Juvenile Court.

 

At 4:15pm on September 26, 2024, Oelwein Police arrested Isiah Dean Heidt, 26, of Oelwein.  Heidt was arrested on a Bremer County warrant for an original charge of Assault Causing Bodily Injury or Mental Illness - Serious Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made in the 900 block of 2nd Ave NE.

 

At 7:35pm on September 26, 2024, Oelwein Police cited Colt Alan Steggall, 42, of Oelwein, with Unlawful Burning of Waste.  Steggall was cited and given a summons to appear in court following reports of plastic being burnt in the 300 block of 5th Ave SE.

At 10:53am on September 25, 2024, Oelwein Police arrested Natalie Jolene Lapole, 31, of Oelwein.  Lapole was arrested on two Fayette County warrants for original charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 1st Offense - Serious Misdemeanor and Making a False Report to a Public Entity - Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made in the 200 block of 5th Ave NE.

 

At 3:35pm on September 25, 2024, Oelwein Police cited Debbie Lee Huber, 66, of Oelwein for Unlawful Disposal on Public Property.  Huber was cited and given a summons to court following the discovery of paint cans deposited on the ground in front of public recycling bins.

At 9:20pm on September 23, 2024, Oelwein Police arrested Amy Renee Lickiss, 39, of Oelwein.  Lickiss was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Bodily Injury 1st Offense - Serious Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made following a report of a domestic disturbance in the 800 block of 8th Ave NE.
