March 16, 2025

At 8:05am on March 16, 2025, Oelwein Police charged Regina Rena Larsen, 52, of Oelwein, with Striking Unattended Vehicle.  Larsen was issued a citation following an investigation into a report of a hit and run in the 300 block of 6th Ave SE at 10:18pm on March 15, 2025.

 

At around 12:00pm on March 16, 2025, Oelwein Police charged Dorothy Jean Briggman, 76, of Oelwein, with 3rd Degree Harassment - Simple Misdemeanor and False Report to Public Entity - Simple Misdemeanor.  Briggman will be issued a Court Summons following a report of harassment in the 100 block of 6th Ave NW.

 

At 12:33pm on March 16, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Tyler Joseph Moore, 26, of West Union.  Moore was arrested on multiple Fayette County warrants for charges of Probation Violation, Parole Violation, and Voluntary Absence from Custody.  During the arrest Moore received additional charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd or Subsequent Offense - Class D Felony, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Simple Misdemeanor, and Interference with Official Acts - Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made in the 800 block of 3rd Ave NE.

 

At 2:27pm on March 16, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested David Lonnie Huntley, 60, of Oelwein.  Huntley was arrested on a Black Hawk County warrant for original charges of three counts of 4th Degree Theft - Serious Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made in the 400 block of 13th Ave NW.

 

At 5:28pm on March 16, 2025, Oelwein Police investigated a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of 1st Ave SE and 3rd St SE.  A white 2004 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Lowell Douglas Latham collided with a white 2016 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Laura Ann Albert.  Initial estimates of damages were $3,500 to the vehicle driven by Latham and $7,000 to the vehicle driven by Albert.  Latham was assigned fault for the accident.  The Oelwein Police were assisted by Mercy Oelwein Ambulance.

March 15, 2025

At 2:41pm on March 15, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Christopher Robert Hurst, 43, of Davenport.  Hurst was arrested on two Fayette County warrants for original charges of Domestic Abuse Assault 2nd Offense - Serious Misdemeanor, Driving While License Revoked/Denied - Serious Misdemeanor, and Violation of No Contact Order - Simple Misdemeanor.  Hurst received an additional charge of Violation of No Contact Order during the arrest, which occurred in the 400 block of 13th Ave NW.

 

At 9:41pm on March 15, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Trevor Thomas Carroll, 25, of Oelwein.  Carroll was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault 1st Offense - Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made following a report of a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of 8th Ave SW.

March 14, 2025

On March 14, 2025, at approximately 9:53pm, Oelwein Officers arrested Seth Lee Rohrick, 28, of Oelwein. Rohrick was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault – 2nd Offense. Rohrick was arrested in the 800 block of North Frederick after a report of an assault taking place.

Release: Continued Investigation Leads to Additional Charges

 

     At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12th, 2025, the Oelwein Police Department conducted a search warrant in the 700 block of 2nd st NW in Oelwein. During the course of the search, illegal controlled substances were located and seized. The following charges have been filed:

 

                                          1)John Stephen Clark, 56 of Oelwein:

                                                   Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd or subsequent- Methamphetamine- Class D Felony

                                                   Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd or subsequent- Marijuana- Class D Felony

                                                   Unlawful Possession of Prescription Medications- Serious Misdemeanor

                                                   Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Simple Misdemeanor

     Mr. Clark was already in custody from an investigation earlier on the same date. These additional charges have been filed with the court.

March 7, 2025

On March 6, 2025, Oelwein Police formally charged two 16-year-old male juveniles after investigating an incident that occurred at the Parkside School on February 27, 2025.  Both of the juveniles were charged with Disorderly Conduct (Fighting) - Simple Misdemeanor, and one juvenile was additionally charged with 5th Degree Criminal Mischief - Simple Misdemeanor.  Guardians of the juveniles have been notified, and the matter has been referred to Juvenile Court.

 

At 12:47am on March 7, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Michael James Haslam, 55, of Oelwein.  Haslam was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault - Simple Misdemeanor, Assault - Simple Misdemeanor, and Interference with Official Acts - Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made following reports of a domestic disturbance in the 600 block of 1st Ave SE.

 

At 11:02am on March 7, 2025, Oelwein Police cited Christopher Lee Millard, 22, of Oelwein.  Millard was issued a citation for Illegal Disposal on Public Property, following a report of illegal dumping in the 100 block of S Frederick Ave that occurred on March 3rd, 2025.

 

At 2:13pm on March 7, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Jared Michael Richardson, 30, of Oelwein.  Richardson was arrested on a Fayette County warrant for Violation of Probation.  This arrest was made at the Oelwein Adult Corrections Office.

 

At 11:14pm on March 7, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Rothana Ram, 36, of Oelwein.  Ram was charged with Operating While Intoxicated - Serious Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 1 block of 3rd St NW.

March 3, 2025

On March 1, 2025, Oelwein Police formally charged two juveniles, one 16-year-old male and one 13-year-old female, with Assault causing Bodily Injury - Serious Misdemeanor.  The charges were filed following an investigation into an assault reported on January 7, 2025 in the 400 block of E Charles St.  The guardians of the juveniles have been notified, and the matter has been referred to Juvenile Court.

 

At 8:52am on March 3, 2025, Oelwein Police charged Tony Ray Howard, 54, of Sumner, with Driving While License Suspended.  Howard was issued a citation for the offense, and given a summons to court, following a traffic stop in the 10 block of 2nd St NW.

 

At 3:11pm on March 3, 2025, Oelwein Police charged Samuel James Ruben Melver, 38, of Sumner, with Driving While License Suspended.  Melver was issued a citation for the offense, and given a summons to court, following a traffic stop in the 1900 block of S Frederick Ave.

 

At 8:19pm on March 3, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Joshua Paul Wieland, 45, of Oelwein.  Wieland was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 1st Offense - Serious Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made in the 100 block of 8th Ave NW after police contact was made with Wieland relating to a 911 hangup call.
