January 11, 2017

On January 11 2017 at  6:47 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Jesus Alfaro Martinez, 24 of Independence.  Martinez was arrested on a charge of Theft 5th Degree-Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest followed a incident in the 100-blk of South Frederick Avenue.

Oelwein Police are investigation a possible attempted armed robbery complaint.  Oelwein Police received a report of a possible attempted armed robbery at 9:16 p. on January 11, 2016 in the 300 block of West Charles.  This incident remains under investigation.

January 8,2017

On January 7, 2017 at 3:30 p.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a domestic situation in the 300 block of 1st Avenue NE.  Officers arrested Barbara Bernadette Swaggerty, age 50 of Oelwein for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor.

 

Officers performed a traffic stop in the 10 block of 7th Avenue NE on January 7, 2017 at 9:05 p.m.  Officers arrested Mallory Elizabeth Biggs, age 25 of Winthrop for Driving While License Barred, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.

 

 

On January 8, 2017 at 12:50 a.m., In the 300 block of 7th Avenue SE, Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop and arrested Elizabeth Lynn Toms, age 32, of Hazleton for Driving While License Revoked, a Serious Misdemeanor.

 

 

January 5,2017

On January 5, 2017 at 2:30 a.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct in the first block of 1st Av SE.  Relating to the report, officers performed a traffic stop and arrested Tyler Alan Welter, age 21 of Fairbank.  Welter was charged with OWI 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor.  Daniel David Sharp, age 36 of Waterloo was cited for Open Container by a Passenger in conjunction with this incident.

 

 

January 3,2017

On January 3, 2016 at 1:10 a.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 700 block of South Frederick in Oelwein.  Officers arrested Seth Lee Rohrick, age 20 of Oelwein on a charge of Driving While Barred, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.

 

 

January 1, 2017

Oelwein Police investigated a motor vehicle accident in the 10 block of 1st av se at 12:49 a.m. A Red 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Bernice Schanbeck collided with a Gray 2007 Chrysler Town and Country Van driven by Debra Schellhorn.

 

At 2:42 a.m., on January 1, 2017 Oelwein Police arrested Corey Ray Conner, 40, of Oelwein.  Connor was arrested on charges of Domestic Abuse Assault-Serious Misdemeanor.  This arrest came following a disturbance in the 200 block of 3rd st nw.

December 31,2016

On December 30, 2016 at 3:15 p.m., Oelwein Officers received a report of criminal mischief occurring in the 300 block of 6th Avenue SW.  Officers responded and located the suspect, Troy Christopher Miller, age 28, of Oelwein.  Miller was arrested and charged with Violation of a Domestic No Contact Order, Simple Misdemeanor, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Aggravated Misdemeanor, and Stalking, a Class "D" Felony.  Miller also has a warrant out of Buchanan County.

 

 

December 30,2016

On December 29, 2016 at 5:15 p.m., Oelwein Officer responded to the intersection of 1st Avenue and 7th Street NE for a reported hit and run.  Officers located the offender and placed him under arrest.  Jacob Anthony Bond, age 25, of Oelwein was arrested for OWI 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor.

 

 

December 21,2016

On December 20, 2016 at 5:35 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 800 block of 1st Avenue NE.  Officers arrested Bryce Jarod Kugel, age 25 of Arlington, on a charge of Driving While License Barred, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.

 

 

On December 21, 2016 at 2:10 a.m., Oelwein Officers were called to a parking lot on 1st Avenue SE to check a report of suspicious vehicles.  Officers checked the vehicles and arrested Cheyenne Marie Brase, age 22, of Nashua for a Fayette County Sheriff's warrant for Theft 5th Degree.

 

 

December 20,2016

On December 19, 2016 at 2:10 p.m. Oelwein Officers checked the area of the 900 block of 2nd Avenue SE for a male wanted on a Fayette County warrant.  Officers arrested Victor Raymond Childers, age 19, of Oelwein on the Fayette County Sheriff's Office warrant with an original charge of Theft 5th Degree.

December 19. 2016

On December 18, 2016 at 2223 hours, Oelwein Police executed a search warrant at 205 6th Ave SE in Oelwein. As a result, Damien Joseph Ladeburg, 34, of Oelwein, was charged with Child Endangerment, an Aggravated Misdemeanor, Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine 2nd, an Aggravated Misdemeanor, Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana 2nd, a Serious Misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor. This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending. Oelwein Police was assisted in this investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit.

December 18, 2016

On December 16, 2016 at 12:22 p.m., Oelwein Police cited Regina Rena Larsen, 43, of Oelwein.  Larsen was cited for Driving while License Suspended-Simple Misdemeanor.  This citation was given following a traffic stop in the 10 block 1st AV SE.

 

On December 16, 2016 at 2:07 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Cody Joe Laughlin, 25, of Gilbertville.  Laughlin was arrested on charges of Assault on a Police Officer-Serious Misdemeanor, Interference with Official acts-Simple Misdemeanor and Criminal Mischief 5th Degree- Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest followed a traffic stop in the 10 block of 6th AV SW.
