September 15, 2025

On September 14, 2025, Oelwein Police filed charges on two juveniles in connection with vandalism at Wings Park that occurred on September 3, 2025.  A 13-year-old male juvenile and a 12-year-old male juvenile were each charged with 5th Degree Criminal Mischief - Simple Misdemeanor.  The guardians of the juveniles have been informed, and the matter will be referred to Juvenile Court.

September 9, 2025

At 1:49pm on September 9, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Shauna Jean Snyder, 36, of Oelwein.  Snyder was arrested on a Fayette County warrant for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Offense - Aggravated Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made in the 100 block of 1st Ave NW.

 

At 4:57pm on September 9, 2025, Oelwein Police responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of 7th St SE and 2nd Ave NE.  A blue 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, operated by a seventeen year old female, turned across the front of a black 2009 Yamaha XVS1100, operated by Brad Taylor, resulting in a collision.  Initial estimates of damages were $5,000 to the Malibu and $4,000 to the vehicle operated by Taylor.  The operator of the Malibu was assigned fault for the accident and was issued a citation for Failure to Yield Upon Left Turn.  Oelwein Police were assisted by the Oelwein Fire Department and Mercy Ambulance Oelwein.

September 7, 2025

On September 7, 2025, at approximately 10:08am, Oelwein Officers arrested Michael Shane Story Jr, 30, of Oelwein. Story was arrested on charges of Disorderly Conduct – Simple Misdemeanor, Public Intoxication – Simple Misdemeanor, Possession of Firearm Suppressor – Class D Felony, and Reckless Use of Firearm – Simple Misdemeanor. Story was arrested in the 10-block of 3rd St NW after a reported incident.

 

At approximately 8:48pm, Oelwein Officers arrested Stephanie Lynn Henry, 37, of Oelwein. Henry was arrested on a Fayette County Warrant, for Failure to Appear – original charge of Violation of No Contact Order. This arrest took place in the 10 block of 1st Avenue SE.

September 6, 2025

At 6:53pm on September 6, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Timothy Arthur Ladeburg, 62, of Oelwein.  Ladeburg was arrested on a Buchanan County warrant for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Driving While License Suspended.  This arrest was made in the 200 block of 7th Ave SW.

 

At 10:47pm on September 6, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Sarah Jayne Moore, 35, of Oelwein.  Moore was charged with two counts of Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations - Aggravated Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made after police responded to an incident in the 900 block of 1st St NW.

September 6, 2025

At 8:15am on September 5, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Lakesha Shantelle Hicks, 42, of Oelwein.  Hicks was arrested on two Fayette County warrants for original charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance - Serious Misdemeanor (two counts), Unlawful Possession of a Prescription Drug - Serious Misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Simple Misdemeanor.  Additionally, Hicks was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault 1st Offense - Simple Misdemeanor and Disorderly Conduct - Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made after officers responded to a report of fighting in the 10 block of 1st Ave SE.

September 4, 2025

At 9:10am on September 3, 2025, Oelwein Police charged a 10-year-old male juvenile with Minor using Tobacco/Vape Product 1st Offense.  The juvenile was issued a citation and a court summons after officers responded to a report of a student with a vape pen at the middle school.

August 29, 2025

On August 29, 2025, at approximately 2:00pm,  Oelwein Police charged a female with Minor Using Tobacco/Vape Product 1st  Offense.  The subject was issued a citation for the infraction following a report of a student possessing a tobacco product at the high school.

 

At approximately 9:30pm, Oelwein Officers arrested Sandra Louise McMurrin, 36, of Oelwein. McMurrin was arrested on 4 Fayette County Warrants. They are as followed, Theft – Fifth Degree Against an Older Individual, Littering X 2, and Driving While Suspended X 2. McMurrin was placed into custody in the 900 block of 2nd Ave NE.

August 28, 2025

At approximately 3:30pm on August 28, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Timothy Parrish, 64, of Oelwein.  Parrish was charged with 23 counts of Control of a Firearm by Felon - Class D Felony.  This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 10 block of 6th Ave NE, in which officers observed multiple firearms in plain view inside the vehicle upon making contact with Parrish.

 

At 9:55pm on August 28, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Kistler Earl Pritchett, 31, of Sumner.  Pritchett was charged with Trespassing 1st Offense - Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest was made following reports of a disturbance in the 100 block of 5th Ave NE.

August 28, 2025

At 8:23am on August 27, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Barbara Sue Shaffer, 56, of Oelwein.  Shaffer was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Simple Misdemeanor, Operating a Vehicle Without Interlock Device - Simple Misdemeanor, and Driving While License Suspended.  This arrest was made following a report of suspicious activity in the area of 20th St SE and S Frederick Ave.

 

At 6:57pm on August 27, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Nathan Michael Williams, 37, of Oelwein.  Williams was charged with Driving While Barred - Aggravated Misdemeanor following a traffic stop in the 1 block of 1st Ave SE.

August 27, 2025

At 12:15am on August 26, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Daniel Warren Wrice, 61, of Oelwein.  Wrice was charged with Driving While Barred - Aggravated Misdemeanor, with the arrest being made following a traffic stop in the 10 block of 1st Ave SE.

 

At 1:03pm on August 26, 2025, Oelwein Police charged a 16-year-old male juvenile with Minor Using Tobacco/Vape Product 3rd or Subsequent Offense.  The juvenile was issued a citation for the infraction following a report of a student possessing a tobacco product at the high school.
