Oelwein Police investigated a motor vehicle accident in the 600 block 1st av se.  A 2002 Cadillac CTS driven by Parnell Williams collided with a parked Blue 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee owned by Jonathon Ray Miller Jr.

Oelwein Police – Building Inspector to Hold Informational Meetings:

 

  

The Oelwein Police Department and the Office of the Building Inspector will hold two informational meetings on March 15th. Both meetings will be held at the police department.

  

At 5:30 p.m., a meeting will be held with local landlords.  The purpose of this short meeting will be to dicuss upcoming nuisance abatement efforts and the procedures that will be followed.  Landlords will be provided a background on the previous efforts and will be informed on how rental properties may be impacted in the future. The goal of the meeting will be education and requesting cooperation.

 

At 7:00 p.m., a meeting will be held for building/electrical/plumbing contractors that perform work in Oelwein.  This meeting is open to citizens as well.  The purpose of this meeting will be to demonstrate and educate attendees on the new online building permit process that will begin on April 3, 2017.

 

March 1,2017

On March 1, 2017 at 9:15 a.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a reported dispute in the 100 block 4th Avenue SW.  Officers arrested Adam John Green, age 29 of Oelwein on charges of Assault and Domestic Abuse Assault, both Simple Misdemeanors.

February 28,2017

On February 27, 2017 at 12:25 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Justin James Gallmeyer, age 33, in the 300 block of 8th Avenue SW.  Gallmeyer was arrested on charges for a Clayton County Warrant for Failure to Appear on an original charge of OWI 1st Offense.

 

On February 27, 2016 at 7:40 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 100 block of South Frederick in Oelwein.   Officers arrested Kristel Lyn Corbin, age 25, of Oelwein on charges of Possession of Marijuana, a Serious Misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor.

 

 

February 26, 2017

On February 26, 2017 at 7:51 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Shawnessy M Washington, 18, of Oelwein.  Washing ton was arrested on a Fayette County Warrant for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Accessory to a Felony.  This arrest followed a traffic stop in the 2500 block of South Frederick.

February 23 2017

On February 22, 2017 at 3:05 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Brandi Jean Main, 37, of Oelwein.  Main was arrested on a Buchanan County Warrant for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Driving While License Suspended.  This arrest followed officer’s interaction with the subject in the 100 block 1st ST NW.

February 22, 2017

On February 22, 2017 at 9:46 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Shawna Nicole Wille, 29, of Oelwein.  Wille was arrested and charged with Possessing Contraband-Class D Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance-Aggravated Misdemeanor, Assault on a Peace Officer-Serious Misdemeanor, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia-Simple Misdemeanor and Theft 5th Degree-Simple Misdemeanor.

February 21,2017

On February 20, 2017 at 9:25 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 200 block of East Charles.  Officers cited Jose Angel Sanchez, age 27 of West Des Moines, for Driving While License Suspended.

February 20, 2017

On February 19, 2017 at 1:50 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Renee Lynn Snay, 43, of Oelwein.  Snay was arrested on two Buchanan County warrants on original charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  This arrest followed an officer’s interaction with the subject in the 100 block of 1st AV SE

 On February 19, 2017 at 5:45 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Esteban Ricardo Carrasco, 36, of Oelwein.  Carrasco was arrested on five Fayette County warrants on original charges of Controlled Substance violations and Failure to affix drug tax stamp.  This arrest followed an officer’s interaction with the subject in the 100 block of 1st AV NW.

 On February 19, 2017 at 10:39 p.m. Oelwein police cited Heather Lea Hamilton, 45, of Oelwein.  Hamilton was cited for Open container as a passenger.  This citation followed a traffic stop in the 10 block 1st av se.

 

February 13,2017

On February 13, 2017 at 7:05 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Tyler John Kelly, age 19 of Oelwein on a Fayette County Sheriff's Office Warrant for Failure to Appear for Possession of Marijuana.  The Oelwein Police Department also charged Kelly with Burglary 3rd Degree, a Class "D" Felony, stemming from an earlier local investigation.
