On December 2 at 8:19 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Jacob Edmund Strempke, 25, of Oelwein. Strempke was charged with Assault causing serious injury- class D felony. This arrest followed an earlier incident in the 100 block of South Frederick.
November 30, 2017
On November 30, 2017 at 12:45 a.m., Oelwein Police arrested Luis Alberto Pineda, 34, of Oelwein. Pineda was arrested on a Fayette County Warrant for Probation Violation on an original charge of Driving while Barred. This arrest came after an officer’s interaction with the subject at the Oelwein Police Department.

On November 27, 2017 at 6:15 p.m., Oelwein Police were called to the 100 block of 1st Avenue NW for a reported disturbance. Officers arrested Nathan Michael Williams, age 29, of Oelwein on a charge of Domestic Assault, Simple Misdemeanor.

On November 22, 2017 at 5:22 p.m., Oelwein Officers investigated a report of a loose dog in the in the 100 block of 7th st SE in Oelwein. Officers cited Fodie Leigh Nielsen 29, of Oelwein with Dog at Large.

November 20,2017
On November 20, 2017 at 8:40 p.m., Oelwein Officers investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 800 block of 2nd Avenue SE in Oelwein. Officers did locate the vehicle and arrested Frank Lee Miller, age 55 of Waterloo, on a charge of Driving While License Barred, and Aggravated Misdemeanor.

On November 17, 2017 at 11:05 p.m. Oelwein Officers responded to a report of an assault in the 100 block of South Frederick. Officers arrested Nathaniel Jeffery Rohrick, age 25 of Oelwein on charges of Public Intoxication 2nd Offense and Assault Causing Injury, both Serious Misdemeanors.

Arrest Hunger Event a Success
On Saturday, November 11, 2017; the Oelwein Police Department and Fareway Stores teamed up to "Arrest Hunger". This year's project was organized by Officer Matthew Schmelzer. The annual event was again successful with hundreds of food items and cash donations received. All of the food and money donated go to the Oelwein Kitchen Cupboard to be dispersed to those in need. This project continues the department "Project One" where one action, one effort, one person, one team and/or one community can make a difference!
