At 11:39am on May 2, 2025, Oelwein Police charged a 14-year-old female juvenile with Minor Using Tobacco/Vape Device 1st Offense. The juvenile was issued a citation and a summons to court following a report of a student in possession of a vape device at Oelwein Middle School. The juvenile was released to guardians, and the matter has been referred to Juvenile Court.

This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 400 block of 6th Ave SW.
At 8:59pm on April 21, 2025, Oelwein Police charged a 15-year-old male juvenile with Driving While License Suspended. The juvenile was issued a citation and summons to court for the infraction following a traffic stop in the 10 block of 1st Ave SE.
At 10:08pm on April 22, 2025, Oelwein Police investigated a motor vehicle accident in the 600 block of E Charles St. A tan 2000 Toyota Sienna driven by Hayden Saithe collided with a dirt pile in a construction zone. Initial estimates of damages were $5,000 to the vehicle driven by Saithe. Saithe was issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Control.
At 1:21pm on April 19, 2025, Oelwein Police arrested Samantha Jo Robinson, 31, of Iowa City. Robinson was arrested on a Linn County warrant for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Operating While Intoxicated 3rd or Subsequent Offense - Class D Felony. Robinson was also charged with Interference with Official Acts - Simple Misdemeanor during the arrest, which was made in the 900 block of S Frederick Ave.
