On December 20, 2020 at 3:50 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Dean Alan Hettinger age 24 for Violation of Probation and Violation of Pretrial Supervision with original charges of Child Endangerment-Death and Murder in the 1st Degree.

On December 19, 2020 at 4:43 A.M., Oelwein Officers were called to the 10 block 1^st AV SE for a report of a traffic accident.  A white 2016 Chevrolet  Impala driven by Brooke Latham was struck by Silver 2005 Chevrolet Impala owned by Carter Sprogis.  This incident remains under investigation.

On December 18, 2020 at 5:39 P.M., Oelwein Officers were called to the 1000 block 1st AV SW for a report of Criminal Mischief.  This incident remains under investigation

On December 13, 2020 at 3:19 P.M., Oelwein Police arrested Andrew Lee Heth, 34, of Oelwein.  Heth was arrested on a Buchanan County Warrant on an original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance- Third Offense.  Heth was also charged with Interference with Official Acts- Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest followed an incident in the 300 block 6^th AV SE.

On December 13, 2020 at 7:32 P.M., Oelwein Police arrested Sarah Jayne Moore, 31, of Oelwein.  Moore was arrested and charged with Going Armed with Intent-Class D Felony.  This arrest followed and incident in the 100 block 8^th AV NW

On December 12, 2020 at 5:39 P.M., Oelwein Officers were called to the 200 block 3^rd AV SE for a report of Criminal Mischief.  This incident remains under investigation

On December 10, 2020 at 12:27 A.M., Oelwein Police arrested Terry James Witte, 38,  of Oelwein,  Witte was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault-Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest followed an incident in the 100 block W Charles.

Oelwein police investigated a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of 4^th AV and 5^th ST SE at 7:10 A.M., on December 9, 2020.   A silver 2001 Ford Expedition driven by Shawn Rocha collided with a black 2020 Subaru Ascent driven by Justin McGuinness .  McGuinness was cited for failure to yield at an uncontrolled intersection and Rocha was cited for no insurance.

On December 9, 2020 at 2:13 P.M., Oelwein Officers were called to the 10 S Frederick for a report of a Theft.  This incident remains under investigation

On December 9, 2020 at 3:03 P.M., Oelwein Officers were called to the 10 block 1^st AV SE for a report of Hit and Run Accident.  A silver Impala driven by Jillian Barker was struck by an unknown vehicle.  This incident remains under investigation

On December 4, 2020 at 8:29 A.M., Oelwein Officers were called to the 200 West Charles for a report of a Burglary.  This incident remains under investigation

On December 4, 2020 at 6:03 P.M., Oelwein Officers were called to the 100 block 1^st AV SE for a report of a Theft.  This incident remains under investigation

On December 3, 2020 at 9:49 A.M., Oelwein Officers were called to the 400 block 13^th AV NW for a report of Burglary.  This incident remains under investigation

 On December 3, 2020 at 12:52 P.M., Oelwein Officers were called to the 100 block 7^th ST SW for a report of Burglary.  This incident remains under investigation
