Oelwein Officers arrested Andrew Scott Lien, age 31 of Onawa, Iowa following investigations into 4 incidents of shoplifting from a business in the 10 block of 1st Av SE. Lien was charged with four counts of Theft 5th Degree, all Simple Misdemeanors.
On April 1, 2019 at 1:00 a.m., Oelwein Officers took a report of a violation of a domestic abuse no contact order. At 9:15 p.m., Officers arrested Jade Marie Miller, age 18 of Oelwein on a Simple Misdemeanor charge of Violation of a No Contact Order.
On March 30, 2019 at 12:47 a.m, Oelwein Police arrested Joseph Cyril Wolfe, 22, of Oelwein. Wolfe was arrested and charged with Operating while Intoxicated- Serious Misdemeanor. This arrest followed a traffic stop in the 200 block of 5th AV SW.
On March 29, 2019 at 1:36 p.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to 200 block 2nd AV SE for a reported Criminal Mischief. This incident remains under investigation.
On March 29, 2019 at 4:54 p.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to 10 block N Frederick for a reported Theft. This incident remains under investigation.
On March 28, 2019 at 2:15 p.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to the 600 block 1st AV NE for a reported Theft. This incident remains under investigation.

On March 25, 2019 at 1:24 a.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 200 block 2nd AV NW in Oelwein. Officers cited the driver of the vehicle, Jessica Lynn Sharrock, age 25 of Oelwein, on charges of Driving While License Suspended- Simple Misdemeanor.
On March 24, 2019 at 2:15 p.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to the 10 block North Frederick AV for a reported Theft. This incident remains under investigation.
On March 20, 2019 at 1:111 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 10 block 1st ST SE in Oelwein. Officers cited the driver of the vehicle, Anthony Christian Nelson, age 21 of Ankeny, on charges of Driving While License Suspended- Simple Misdemeanor.
On March 20, 2019 at 6:49 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Anthony James Taylor, 36, of Jesup. Taylor was arrested on multiple Sioux County Warrants for Failure to Appear as well as Driving while License Suspended- Simple Misdemeanor. This arrest followed a traffic stop in the 10 block N Frederick Ave.
On March 18, 2019 at 1:45 p.m., in the 100 block of West Charles, Oelwein Officers arrested Lexi Shai Schwandt, age 19 of Oelwein on a Buchanan County Sheriff's warrant for Failure to Appear for Pretrial Conference on Possession of Controlled Substance-Marijuana, and Child Endangerment.
On March 17, 2017 at :15 a.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 100 block of 10th St SE in Oelwein. This stop resulted in the arrest of Jason Jerry Laurie, age 39 of Oelwein on a charge of OWI 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor.
On March 17, 2019 at 12:40 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Willie Traymone Phillips, age 37, in the 100 block of 5th Av SW. Phillips was wanted on Black Hawk County Sheriff's warrants for Escape from Custody, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver, and Sex Offender Registry Violation. Phillips is also wanted out of the Oakdale Placement Facility. Phillips was extradited to the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office.
On March 12, 2019 at 11:10 a.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Chris Edward Westendorf, age 53 of Oelwein on a Fayette County Warrant for Failure to Comply With Inpatient Treatment Program.
A report was taken of a dispute in the 100 block of South Frederick on March 13, 2019 at 1:50 p.m. Officers responded and arrested Larry Edwin Shannon, age 53 of Oelwein on a charge of Disorderly Conduct, a Simple Misdemeanor.
