On May 13, 2019 at 5:00 p.m., Oelwein Officers were advised of an incident in the 300 block of 150 South in Oelwein. In the course of investigating this occurrence, Officers arrested Jowayne Marquist Phillips, age 20 of Oelwein on a Polk County warrant with original charges of Failure To Appear for a Probation Violation hearing for Possession of Burglary Tools and Burglary 3rd Degree.
On May 12, 2019 at 3:45 a.m., Oelwein Police performed a traffic stop in the 10 block of 3rd St SE. Officers arrested the driver of the vehicle, Justin Jay Krusemark, 41 years old of Jesup, who was found to be Driving While License Suspended. Krusemark was also arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, simple misdemeanor and Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class "D" Felony.
Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 300 block of South Frederick on May 7, 2019 at 1:30 a.m. Officers arrested Bennie Lamont Dillard, age 52 of Oelwein for Driving While License Suspended.
On May 7, 2019 at 4:20 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 100 blk of 2nd St SE. Officers arrested Kenneth Alan Thornton, age 50 of Oelwein for a Mittimus warrant from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office. Also arrested was Melissa Rae Hempstead, age 42 of Oelwein for a Fayette County Warrant for Theft 5th Degree.
On May 5, 2019 at 12:06 a.m., Oelwein Police performed a traffic stop in the 10 block of 6th AV NW. Officers arrested the passenger, 32 year old Jeffery Ryan Wilson, of Oelwein on a Fayette County Warrant on an original charge of Driving while License Barred.
On May 5, 2019 at 03:33 a.m., Oelwein Police performed a traffic that the intersection of 20th ST SE and Highway 150. Officers arrested the driver, Michaella Danyelle Green, 28, of Oelwein. Green was arrested and charged with Operating while Intoxicated- Serious Misdemeanor. Green was also cited for excessive Speed.
On May 5, 2019 at 6:00 a.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to 300 block West Charles or a reported Criminal Mischief. This incident remains under investigation.
On May 5, 2019 at 11:10 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Jacob David Snay, 24, of Oelwein. Snay was arrested on a Fayette County Warrant on an original charge of Theft 5th Degree. This arrest followed an officer’s interaction at the intersection of E Charles and S Frederick.
On May 4, 2019 at 12:48 p.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to 200 block 4th St SW or a reported Criminal Mischief. This incident remains under investigation.
On May 3, 2019 at 3:45 p.m., Oelwein Police performed a traffic stop in the 100 block of East Charles. Officers arrested David Matthew Leyh, age 61, of Westgate on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance, a Serious Misdemeanor, Possession of Paraphernalia and Driving While License Suspended, both Simple Misdemeanors. Leyh was also cited for No Insurance.
At 7:45 p.m., on May 3, 2019 Oelwein Officers were called to a residence in the 400 block of 3rd St SW for a dispute. Officers were advised that one individual had sustained injuries. Officers arrested Christina Marie Burco, age 19, of Oelwein. Burco has been charged with Attempted Murder, a Class "B" Felony. The Oelwein Police Department was assisted in their investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
On May 1, 2019 at 12:34 a.m., in the 2400 block of Highway 150, Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop. Officers arrested Justis William Kim Tielebein, age 18 of Hazleton, for Driving While License Suspended. Tielebein was also given a written warning for failure to obey a traffic control device.
On May 1, 2019 at 8:28 a.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Timothy Michael Kearns, 53, of Oelwein. Kearns was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Serious Misdemeanor, Eluding- Serious Misdemeanor, Driving while License Suspended- Simple Misdemeanor and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia- Simple Misdemeanor. This arrest followed a traffic stop in the 1300 block of South Frederick.
On May 1, 2019 at 10:02 p.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to 200 block 12th AV SE for a reported Burglary. This incident remains under investigation.
On May 1, 2019 at 1:15 p.m., Oelwein Police Officers responded to 10block North Frederick for a reported Theft. This incident remains under investigation.
On May 1, 2019 at 5:13 p.m., Oelwein Officers Oelwein Police arrested Emma Lee Imhoff, 20 Oelwein. Imhoff was arrested on 2 Scott County Warrants on original charges of Escape from Custody and Probation Violations. This arrest followed an incident in the 200 block E Charles.
