Oelwein Public Safety Poker Run Raises Money For St. Jude's

Motorcycles and Odd Rods gathered in Oelwein on Saturday, July 19th for the 9th annual Oelwein Public Safety Poker Run. As they cruised throughout NE Iowa, not only did they enjoy the sights and stops along the way, but the satisfaction of knowing they were raising money to help save children. Oelwein Police Officer Brandon DeJong has organized the Oelwein Public Safety Poker Run for the last 9 years, raising money for the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. This year, the group raised $600 which will help continue the hospitals lifesaving mission of finding cures and saving children. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. For more information or to donate to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, visit their website at www.stjude.org. The Oelwein Public Safety Poker Run starts and ends in Oelwein each year and anyone is invited to participate.
