First Baptist Church Receive Medal and Cookin Up Cash 2014 Announced
Oelwein Police Chief Jeremy Logan presented the First Baptist Church with the Citizen Service Medal for 2013, on Sunday, February 23rd. The Citizen Service Medal is presented to any citizen, not employed by the Oelwein Police Department, who significantly assists the Oelwein Police Department and its members with accomplishing the department’s mission.
The First Baptist Church has significantly assisted the Oelwein Police Department by hosting the annual Cookin’ Up Cash 4 Cops police fundraiser. Not only has the fundraiser helped raise money for the department to purchase equipment and life-saving tools, but they have created a wonderful event that helps the Oelwein Police staff interact with the community in a positive atmosphere. “The members of the First Baptist Church continuously provide financial and moral support to the employees of our department. Their faith and trust in us empowers us to work towards our mission” stated Chief Jeremy Logan. “These great people not only assist us with the annual fundraiser, but they year round provide us with kinds words and encouragement.”
The First Baptist Church announced they will once again host the Cookin Up Cash 4 Cops police fundraiser on Thursday, May 15th, 2014. More information will be announced as the date approaches.
