On November 14, 2012 at 6:34 p.m., Oelwein Police Department was informed of a shoplifter at a business in the 10 block of 1st Avenue SE. Officers responded and charges were filed. Michael Patrick O’Hara, age 26, of Oelwein has been charged with 5th Degree Theft, a Simple Misdemeanor.
Oelwein Officers responded to a complaint of a dispute at a bus stop at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 5th Street NE in Oelwein, occurring at 3:30 p.m. on November 29, 2012. Michelle Marie Manning, age 16, of Oelwein, has been referred to Juvenile Court Services on charges of Simple Assault.
On November 26, 2012 at 8:00 p.m., Oelwein Police took a report of a vehicle stolen from a residence in the 100 block of 1st Avenue NW in Oelwein. On November 28, 2012 at 2:20 a.m., with the assistance of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, the Oelwein Fire Department, and the Oelwein Ambulance, the vehicle was recovered abandoned in the 16000 block of 50th Street in Oelwein. After an investigation by Oelwein Officers, 5 juveniles were charged in this incident. Brandon Gaskin, age 16 of Maynard, has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property, a Class “D: Felony, and Accessory After the Fact, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. Brenden Byron Larsen, age 15, of Oelwein, is charged with Theft 2nd Degree, a Class “D” Felony. And Derek Alan Woods, age 16, Dakota Woods, age 15, both of Maynard, and Chastity Ann Jensen, age 15, of Oelwein were each charged with Accessory After the Fact, Aggravated Misdemeanor.
