On April 1, 2014 at 12:00 a.m., Oelwein Officers were involved in a short chase in an attempt to stop a motorcycle in the 100 block of South Frederick in Oelwein. This resulted in officers arresting Travis Frank Norton, age 20, of Strawberry Point on charges of Eluding, Aggravated Misdemeanor; Driving While License Revoked, Serious Misdemeanor; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Simple Misdemeanor. The Oelwein police were assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office and the Iowa State Patrol.
