Release: Search Warrant Executed – Arrests Made

     The Oelwein Police Department and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department executed a search
warrant at 216 6th Avenue SE in Oelwein on February 19, 2021. Officers located and seized drug
paraphernalia and marijuana.
     Oelwein Police have arrested and charged the following:

     Dustin Christian Staley – Age 47
        Charge                                         Level of Offense
 Possession of drug paraphernalia        Simple Misdemeanor
 Child Endangerment                        Aggravated Misdemeanor
 Drug Stamp Tax Violation                 D - Felony
 Possession a controlled substance      D-Felony
with the intent to deliver.
Prohibited Acts – (Possession with
intent to deliver) within 1,000 feet
of a school.

Mr. Staley was transported to the Fayette County Jail pending an initial appearance. The Oelwein
Police Department was assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, the Independence Police
K-9 Unit, the Iowa Department of Human Services, and the Oelwein Community Development Department.
Additional charges are pending.
