On Saturday, November 11, 2017; the Oelwein Police Department and Fareway Stores teamed up to "Arrest Hunger". This year's project was organized by Officer Matthew Schmelzer. The annual event was again successful with hundreds of food items and cash donations received. All of the food and money donated go to the Oelwein Kitchen Cupboard to be dispersed to those in need. This project continues the department "Project One" where one action, one effort, one person, one team and/or one community can make a difference!
