April 22,2015

At 10:45 pm on April 21, 2015 Oelwein Police arrested Daniel Scott Padgett, 37, of Oelwein. Padgett was arrested on a Fayette County Warrant for an original charge of Domestic Abuse Third Offense.

At 11:22 pm on April 21, 2015 Oelwein Police arrested Larry Edwin Shannon, 49, of Oelwein. Shannon was arrested for Driving while License Barred-Aggravated Misdemeanor, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia-Simple Misdemeanor and Interference with Official Acts-Simple Misdemeanor. This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 700 block of 1st Avenue SW.

April 21, 2015

On April 20, 2015 at 4:25 p.m., Oelwein Officers were called to a business in the 10 block of 1st Avenue SE in Oelwein, for a report of a suspected shoplifter. Officers arrested Dwight James Davis, age 43 of Oelwein on a charge of Theft 5th Degree, a Simple Misdemeanor.

On April 21, 2015 at 12:40 a.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 1 block of 1st Avenue SE in Oelwein. Officers cited and released the driver of the vehicle, Megan Elise Owens, age 22 of Fredericksburg, on a charge of Driving While License Suspended, a Simple Misdemeanor.

April 19, 2015

At 2:31 PM on April 18th, 2015, Oelwein police arrested Thomas Wayne Bellendier-Kalkbrenner, 30, of Oelwein. Bellendier-Kalkbrenner was arrested on a charge of Simple Assault, a simple misdemeanor. This arrest was made after a disturbance was reported in the 1100 block 1st Ave SW.

At 4:40 PM on April 18th, 2015, Oelwein police cited Larry Alvin Larson Jr, 50, of Oelwein for disturbing the peace, a simple misdemeanor. Larson was cited after a citizens report of loud music in the 10 block of 2nd St NW.

At 1:30 AM on April 19th, 2015, Oelwein police cited David Allan Lorenzen, 21, of Oelwein for open container, a simple misdemeanor. Lorenzen was cited after officers found him walking in the 500 block of North Frederick Avenue.

At 1:49 AM on April 19th, 2015, Oelwein police cited Jarred Lemond Edmonds, 20, of Cedar Rapids for possession of alcohol under legal age, a simple misdemeanor. Edmonds was cited following a traffic stop in the 10 block of 1st Ave NE.

April 17, 2015

Oelwein Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle theft complaint. Oelwein Police received a report of a motor vehicle theft at 6:25 pm on April 16, 2015 from the Dollar General Store. The vehicle was described as a 2009 Silver in color Saturn Sport Utility Vehicle. This vehicle was recovered at 7:11 pm in the 300 Block of 5th Avenue SW. This incident remains under investigation.

April 14,2015

On April 13, 2015 at 9:10 p.m., Oelwein Officers were called to a disturbance in the 400 block of 1st Street NE in Oelwein. Officers arrested Rebecca Ann Sherbon, age 29 of Oelwein on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Offense, an Aggravated Misdemeanor and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor. Also arrested was Joshua Allen Fleshner, age 29, also of Oelwein, on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance, a Serious Misdemeanor and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor.

April 13,2015

On April 12, 2015 at 2326, Oelwein Police arrested Jared Joseph Hill, 25, of Oelwein. Hill was arrested on an Outside Warrant out of Black Hawk County for Failure to Appear- Simple Misdemeanor, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia- Simple Misdemeanor, Possession of a controlled substance- Serious Misdemeanor and Interference with Official Acts-Simple Misdemeanor. The arrest was made following a brief foot pursuit in the 300 block of 4th AV NE.

April 9,2015

At 2:17 pm on April 8, 2015 Oelwein Police arrested Robert Arthur Williams, 30, of Oelwein. Williams was arrested on a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault-Serious Misdemeanor. This arrest was made after a report of a domestic assault in the 100 block of 3rd Avenue NE.

April 8, 2015

On April 6, 2015 at 6:17 pm Oelwein Police served a citation to Merle Rahe, 59, of Oelwein for Failure to Abate Nuisance at 1141 1st Avenue SW.

On April 6, 2015 at 6:09 pm Oelwein Police served a citation to Donald Forney, 58, of Oelwein for Failure to Abate Nuisance at 815 4th Avenue SW.

April 5,2015

At 4:24 pm on April 4, 2015 Oelwein Police Department Arrested Max Evan Meharry Stone, 40, of Oelwein. Stone was arrested on a Violation of Domestic Abuse No Contact Order-Simple Misdemeanor. This arrest was made after Oelwein Police Officers located Stone with the protected party in the 100 block of South Frederick Avenue.

At 10:16 PM on April 4, 2015 Oelwein Police Department arrested Crystal Marie Howard, 31, of Oelwein. Howard was arrested for Child Endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor. The arrest was made after a report of a disturbance in the 100 block of 3rd Avenue NW.

April 1, 2015

On March 31, 2015 at 9:05 a.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a residence in the 10 block of 2nd Street NW in Oelwein for a reported domestic disturbance. Officers arrested Justin Kyle Green age 21, of Oelwein on a charge of Domestic Assault with Injury, a Serious Misdemeanor.

Oelwein Officers arrested George David Kirkbride II, age 46 of Hazleton on March 31, 2015. Kirkbride was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Simple Misdemeanor.

On March 31, 2015 at 9:50 p.m., Oelwein Officers were called to a residence in the 100 block of 7th Avenue SW in Oelwein for a report of an injured party. Officers arrested Gerald Eugene Greathead, age 66 of Oelwein on a charge of Domestic Assault with Injury, a Serious Misdemeanor.

March 31, 2015

On March 30, 2015 at 1:35 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested James Michael Riggs Dempsey, age 19 of Oelwein, on a Fayette County Sheriff’s Office warrant with original charges of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver-a Class “D” Felony.
