On October 18, 2015 at 9:05 p.m., in the 500 block of Rock Island Road Oelwein Officers arrested Mikeala Lynn Voshell, age 24 of Oelwein, on two charges of Theft in the 3rd Degree, Aggravated Misdemeanors.
On October 17, 2015 at 7:40 p.m., Oelwein Officers responded to an incident in the 400 block of North Frederick in Oelwein. Officers arrested Robert Michael Ainsworth Jr, age 44 of Oelwein on a charge of Harassment 3rd Degree, a Simple Misdemeanor.
At 8:25 p.m., on October 17, 2015 Oelwein Officers responded to a driving complaint in the area of the 7oo block of South Frederick. Officers located the vehicle, stopped, and arrested the driver, Scott Michael Huntington, age 30 of Cedar Rapids on a charge of OWI 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor. Huntington was also cited for Allowing an Unauthorized Person to Drive. Further charges are pending.
On October 14, 2015 at 4:00 a.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Cory Arden Hursey, age 29 of Oelwein on two warrants; a District Court warrant for Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, OWI, and Reckless Driving and a Fayette County Sheriff’s Office warrant with an original charge of Violation of the Sex Offender Registry.
AT 08:44am on October 11, 2015 Oelwein Police arrested Thaddeus Luke Higgenbottom, 42, of Oelwein. Higgenbottom was arrested on charges of Trespass-Simple Misdemeanor and Public Intoxication-Simple Misdemeanor. This arrest was made following a disturbance in the 100 block of 5th AV SE.
On October 9, 2015 at 11:30 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 100 block of hwy 150 North. Officers cited and released Nathaniel Dylan Bowser, age 26 of Oelwein for Driving With a Suspended Driver’s License.
On October 9, 2015 at 2:00 a.m., Oelwein Officers arrested David Allan Latham, age 25, of Oelwein on charges from 2 Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Warrants; Domestic Abuse Assault and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Oelwein police are investigating a criminal mischief complaint. Oelwein Police received a report of criminal mischief at 2:46 am on October, 3, 2015 from the 10 block of 2nd St NW. This incident remains under investigation.
On October 3, 2015 at 5:23 am Oelwein Police responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 2500 block of Highway 150 South. A 2012 UPS Isuzu van driven by Mark Franzen was traveling southbound on Highway 150, when the driver encountered a deer. The driver attempted to miss the deer, sending the vehicle into the east ditch where it came to a rest causing approximately $4000.00 in damage.
On October 1, 2015 at 1:40 a.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Zachary Scott Penning, age 31 of Oelwein, on a Fayette County Sheriff’s warrant for Probation Violation, original charges of Domestic Abuse Assault x 2.
At 11:10 am on September 27, 2015 Oelwein Police arrested Dalton Michael Veber, 20, of Oelwein. Veber was arrested on charges of Burglary 3rd Degree-Class D Felony, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia-Simple Misdemeanor and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Simple Misdemeanor. This arrest was made following a disturbance that was reported in the 200 block of 2nd Av NE.
At 4:41 am on September 28, 2015 Oelwein Police arrested Zachary Scott Penning, 31, of Oelwein. Penning was arrested on a charge of Violation of a No Contact Order-Simple Misdemeanor. This arrest was the result of a disturbance in the 1000 block of S Frederick.
At 0010 on September 27, 2015 Oelwein Police cited and released Ashley Marie Ricchio, 20, of Oelwein, Dalton David Lenz, 20, of Stanley, Cassidy Lynn Connor, 18, of Oelwein and Caitlin Marie Swaney, 19, of Oelwein. All parties were cited for Possession of Alcohol under the Legal Age-simple misdemeanor. These citations were issued following a noise complaint in the 700 block of 1st AV SE.
At 00:50 am on September 19, 2015 Oelwein Police Arrested Joshua Conrad Avenson, 24, of Westgate. Avenson was arrested on a charges of Driving while Barred-Aggravated Misdemeanor and Failure to File SR-22 Insurance-Serious misdemeanor. This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 10 block of North Frederick.
