January 17,2017

On January 17, 2017 at 4:50 a.m., Oelwein Police Department received information from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office of a vehicle possibly driven by an intoxicated driver, headed to Oelwein from West Union.  An Oelwein Officer stopped the vehicle in the 600 block of 1st Avenue NE and arrested Jennifer Lynn Eickhoff, age 36 of Oelwein, on charges of OWI 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor and Child Endangerment, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.

January 16, 2017

On January 15 2017 at 7:48 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Christopher Michael Potts, 40, of Oelwein. Potts was arrested and charged with domestic abuse assault-simple misdemeanor.  This arrest followed and incident in the 100 block of 4th av se.

Oelwein Police investigated a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of 2nd av se and Hwy 150 at 5:04 a.m. A Maroon 2002 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Matthew Kastli collided with a Red 2013 Chevrolet Impala driven by Nancy James.

January 15, 2017

At 1:15 p.m., on January 14, 2017 Oelwein Police arrested Darrick Shawn Eubanks Jr, 22, of Waterloo.  Eubanks was arrested on a charge of violation of no contact order-simple misdemeanor, as well as a Black Hawk County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of domestic abuse assault.  This arrest followed an incident in the 10-blk 7th ST nw.

 

At 3:05am on January 15, 2017 Oelwein Police arrested Nathan Gabriel Kirby, 30, of Oelwein, Kirby was arrested and charged with criminal mischief 2nd degree-class d felony, Assault on persons engaged in certain occupations-serious misdemeanor, enhanced public intoxication-serious misdemeanor, assault- simple misdemeanor and interference with official acts- simple misdemeanor.  This arrest followed and incident in the 10 block of 1st av se

January 14,2017

On January 13, 2017 at 4:40 p.m., Oelwein Officers, assisting an outside agency with a search warrant, arrested Stephen Andrew Loers, age 19 of Oelwein on a charge of Carrying Weapons, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.  Loers was also charged with Robbery 1st Degree, a Class "B" Felony, in conjunction with an investigation into an earlier incident.

January 13,2017

On January 12, 2017 at 4:30 p.m., Oelwein Officers were called to the area of the 10 block of North Frederick in Oelwein for a reported domestic disturbance.  Officers arrested Ryan Patrick Nolan, age 20 of Oelwein for Domestic Assault-Enhanced, a Serious Misdemeanor.

 

 

January 11, 2017

On January 11 2017 at  6:47 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Jesus Alfaro Martinez, 24 of Independence.  Martinez was arrested on a charge of Theft 5th Degree-Simple Misdemeanor.  This arrest followed a incident in the 100-blk of South Frederick Avenue.

Oelwein Police are investigation a possible attempted armed robbery complaint.  Oelwein Police received a report of a possible attempted armed robbery at 9:16 p. on January 11, 2016 in the 300 block of West Charles.  This incident remains under investigation.

January 8,2017

On January 7, 2017 at 3:30 p.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a domestic situation in the 300 block of 1st Avenue NE.  Officers arrested Barbara Bernadette Swaggerty, age 50 of Oelwein for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor.

 

Officers performed a traffic stop in the 10 block of 7th Avenue NE on January 7, 2017 at 9:05 p.m.  Officers arrested Mallory Elizabeth Biggs, age 25 of Winthrop for Driving While License Barred, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.

 

 

On January 8, 2017 at 12:50 a.m., In the 300 block of 7th Avenue SE, Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop and arrested Elizabeth Lynn Toms, age 32, of Hazleton for Driving While License Revoked, a Serious Misdemeanor.

 

 

January 5,2017

On January 5, 2017 at 2:30 a.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct in the first block of 1st Av SE.  Relating to the report, officers performed a traffic stop and arrested Tyler Alan Welter, age 21 of Fairbank.  Welter was charged with OWI 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor.  Daniel David Sharp, age 36 of Waterloo was cited for Open Container by a Passenger in conjunction with this incident.

 

 

January 3,2017

On January 3, 2016 at 1:10 a.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 700 block of South Frederick in Oelwein.  Officers arrested Seth Lee Rohrick, age 20 of Oelwein on a charge of Driving While Barred, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.

 

 

January 1, 2017

Oelwein Police investigated a motor vehicle accident in the 10 block of 1st av se at 12:49 a.m. A Red 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Bernice Schanbeck collided with a Gray 2007 Chrysler Town and Country Van driven by Debra Schellhorn.

 

At 2:42 a.m., on January 1, 2017 Oelwein Police arrested Corey Ray Conner, 40, of Oelwein.  Connor was arrested on charges of Domestic Abuse Assault-Serious Misdemeanor.  This arrest came following a disturbance in the 200 block of 3rd st nw.

December 31,2016

On December 30, 2016 at 3:15 p.m., Oelwein Officers received a report of criminal mischief occurring in the 300 block of 6th Avenue SW.  Officers responded and located the suspect, Troy Christopher Miller, age 28, of Oelwein.  Miller was arrested and charged with Violation of a Domestic No Contact Order, Simple Misdemeanor, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Aggravated Misdemeanor, and Stalking, a Class "D" Felony.  Miller also has a warrant out of Buchanan County.
