March 16, 2015

At 7:15 p.m., on March 15, 2015, Oelwein Officers responded to a call of an altercation in the 900 block of South Frederick Avenue in Oelwein. Officers arrested Robert Paul Schulmeister SR, age 54, of Oelwein on charges of 2 counts of Simple Assault, both Simple Misdemeanors. Also arrested on the scene was Andrew Richard Johnson Jr, age 19, of Oelwein on charges of Operating without Owner’s Consent, an Aggravated Misdemeanor and Failure to have a Valid Driver’s License, Simple Misdemeanor.

March 15,2015

On March 14, 2015 at 6:05 p.m., Oelwein officers checked for a wanted person at a residence in the 400 block of 3rd Avenue SE. Officers arrested Anthony Allen Copley, age 28, of Oelwein on a Fayette County Sheriff’s Office warrant with original charges of Domestic Abuse Assault and three counts of Violation of a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order. Officers also arrested Scott Lee Bennington, age 50 of Oelwein for Interference with Official Acts, a Simple Misdemeanor.

March 14, 2015

At 2:20 a.m. on March 14th, 2015, Oelwein police cited and released Darryl James Vanorder, 47 years old, of Oelwein. Vanorder was cited for driving while license suspended – a simple misdemeanor, following a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Frederick Avenue.

March 12, 2015

On March 12, 2015 at 12:30 a.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 500 block of Rock Island Road in Oelwein. Officers cited and released Taylor Lynn Joe, age 21, of Waterloo for Driving While License Suspended.

On March 12, 2015 at 1:20 a.m., Oelwein Officers stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Rock Island Road. Officers charged and released 2 males. Tanner Dale Grover, age 19 of Independence was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor. And Dustin Robert Beau, age 17, also of Independence, was cited with Possession of Tobacco Underage.

March 11, 2015

On March 10, 2015 at 11:00 p.m., Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop in the 900 block of South Frederick Avenue in Oelwein. Officers arrested Damian Alexander Torres, age 25 of Oelwein on a Jasper County, Missouri arrest warrant for charges of Felony Damage to Property.

March 10, 2015

Oelwein Police investigated a motor vehicle accident in the 1000 blk of Hwy 150 South at 11:42 am on 03/09/15. A silver 1987 Ford Thunderbird driven by Jamie Levendusky collided with a blue 2014 Chevy Silverado driven by Paul Kime. Initial estimates of damage were $5000 to the vehicle driven by Levendusky and $10000 to the vehicle driven by Kime. Levendusky was cited for unsafe turn. The Oelwein Police Dept was assisted by the Oelwein Fire Dept.

 

March 8, 2015

On March 8, 2015 at 5:10 p.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a report of threats made in the 10 block of South Frederick Avenue in Oelwein. Officers arrested Rachel Marie Montes, age 25, of Manchester, on charges of 2 counts of Assault on Persons Engaged in Certain Occupations, Serious Misdemeanor and Interference With Official Acts, Trespass, and Providing False Identification Information, all Simple Misdemeanors.

On March 8, 2015 at 10:05 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Jeffrey Richard Woods, age 50 of Oelwein, on a Fayette County Sheriff’s warrant for Failure to Appear on a Contempt of Court Charge for Failure to Pay Restitution.

March 7, 2015

On March 7, 2015 at 6:00 p.m., Oelwein Officers were called to the 300 Block of East Charles for a reported altercation. Monique Alexandra Limon, age 24 and Alyshia Eilleen Straw, age 27, both of Oelwein, were each cited and released for Disorderly Conduct, a Simple Misdemeanor.

On March 7, 2015 Oelwein Officers responded to the 100 block of West Charles to take a report of Criminal Mischief to a vehicle in a parking lot. Officers received further information on this incident during their investigation and arrested Isiah Dean Heidt, age 17 of Oelwein, who was referred to juvenile authorities on two counts of Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree, a Serious Misdemeanor.

March 1, 2015

On March 1, 2015 at 12:45 a.m., Oelwein Officers stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of North Frederick. Officers cited and released Carrie Ann Youngblut, age 44 of Waterloo, for Driving While License Suspended.

February 28, 2015

On February 27, 2015 at 3:25 p.m., Oelwein Officers responded to a parking lot in the 100 block of 2nd St SE for a hit and run motor vehicle accident. A White 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis, owned and operated by Elaine Maxine Walker, age 77 of Oelwein was struck while parked and the suspect vehicle left the scene. This incident remains under investigation.

February 25, 2015

On February 24, 2015 at 3:10 p.m., Oelwein Officers were called to the scene of a property damage vehicle accident in the 500 block of 2nd St SE. Vehicle #1, a 1998 Ford Explorer driven by Mykeha Leticia Jefferson, age 26 of Oelwein, backed to pull into an alley, striking the front end of Vehicle #2, a 1998 Oldsmobile 88 driven by Clarence William Priest, age 72 of Strawberry Point. Vehicle #2 sustained approximately $1000.00 damage. Jefferson was given a written warning for unsafe backing. There were no injuries.

On February 24, 2015 at 3:45 p.m., Oelwein officers were called to the scene of a property damage accident in the 100 block of East Charles Street. Vehicle #1, a 2006 Pontiac Torrent driven by Gaylen Edward Kunkle, age 67 of Oelwein, was travelling west bound on East Charles and vehicle #2, a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire, driven by Jaren Mason Opperman, age 16 of Oelwein, attempting to exit a private drive on to East Charles struck the front end of vehicle #1. Opperman was given a written warning for Failure to Enter Roadway Safely from a Private Drive. There were no injuries.
