At 2:39 p.m., on September 21, 2016 Oelwein Police arrested Craig Michael Reisner, 47, of Oelwein. Reisner was arrested on a charge of violation of no contact order following an incident in the 10 block or 3rd ST NW.
At 5:51 p.m., on September 21, 2016 Oelwein Police arrested Larry J Martin, 36, of Oelwein. Martin was arrested on a Freeport IL warrant for Domestic Assault following an incident in the 300 block f 7th av sw.
At 9:44 p.m., on September 21, 2016 Oelwein Police arrested Aaron Andrew Schmitt, 25, of Independence. Schmitt was arrested on a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault-Aggravated Misdemeanor. This arrest was the result of an incident in the 200 block of 4th st nw.
On September 21, 2016 Oelwein Police arrested Myron Richard Armbruster 54, of Oelwein. Armbruster was arrested on a Dubuque County warrant on an original charge of Theft 2nd degree in the 100 block of 9th av sw.
Oelwein Police investigated a motor vehicle accident in the 200-blk 6th st ne at 6:52 p.m., a tan 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by Hunter Smock struck a parked Green 1999 Dodge Ram owned by Scott Jorgenson.
On September 19, 2016 at 4:15 p.m., Oelwein Officers served a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of East Charles in Oelwein. Officers arrested Shawna Nicole Wille, age 29 of West Union on an Emmet County warrant for Contempt of Court for Failure to Pay Amounts on a district court charge of Assault Causing Bodily Injury. Officers also arrested Randy Allen Myers, age 37 of Oelwein on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance, an Aggravated Misdemeanor and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor. Myers was also charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, a Class "D" Felony, stemming from an on going investigation from an earlier date.
On September 18, 2016 Oelwein Officers performed a traffic stop at 10th St and Hwy 150. Officers arrested Tristan Marie Westpfahl, age 29, of Oelwein on two counts of Driving While License Suspended.

Fall open burning dates have been set. You may burn vegetation only that grows on your property between 8AM to 9PM starting September 24th through November 5th. Vegetation includes trees, tree trimmings, branches, stumps, brush, weeds, leaves, grass, shrubbery and yard trimmings. You may not burn furniture, finished wood, clothing, lumber, building materials, flammable liquids, etc. All fires shall be constantly attended by a person who shall assume responsibility for the burning and a garden hose connected to a water supply or other approved fire-extinguishing equipment must be readily available at the burning site. See Section 16-80 of the Oelwein City Code for further open burning restrictions.
At 6:56 p.m., on September 11, 2016 Oelwein Police arrested Roger Dean Hall II, 29, of Oelwein. Hall was arrested on a charge of driving while barred-aggravated misdemeanor. This arrest followed a traffic stop in the 400 block of 13 av nw.
On Sept 10, 2016 at 12:25 p.m., Oelwein Police arrested Elizabeth Sylvia Minnick, 21, of Baraga Mi. Minnick was arrested on a Fayette County Warrant for an original charge of Controlled substance violation. This arrest took place in the 500 block of Rock Island Road.
On Sept 11, 2016 at 12:45 a.m., Oelwein Police arrested Regina Rena Larsen, 43, of Oelwein. Larsen was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver-Class D Felony, Driving while License Suspended-Simple Misdemeanor and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia- Simple Misdemeanor. Larsen was also cited for improper use of registration. This arrest followed a traffic stop in the 100 block of 6th av se.
On September 9, 2016 at 12:35 a.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Dariann Janell Toms, age 21, of Oelwein for a Buchanan County Sheriff's warrant for Violation of No Contact Order. The arrest was made in the 600 block of 5th Avenue SW.
On September 8, 2016, at approximately 10:51 a.m.; Oelwein Police were called to the 1100 block of 1st Street N.E. for a subject in mental distress. Upon making contact with the subject, he fled on foot to the south towards the Oelwein Middle School. As officers pursued the subject, as a precautionary measure, the Oelwein Schools were placed on lockdown. The subject was later located and detained between Oak Street and 1st Street S.E. The subject was transported to Oelwein Mercy Hospital for evaluation.
Oelwein Police are investigating a criminal mischief complaint. Oelwein Police received a report of criminal mischief at 10:49 p.m., on September 6, 2016 in the 500 block 1st AV NW. This incident remains under investigation.
On September 3, 2016 at 10:20 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Larissa Sue Louch, age 25 of Oelwein on a Fayette County Warrant with an original charge of Driving While License Suspended.
On September 4, 2016 at 5:15 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Nathan William Rolfes, age 31 of Oelwein on a Black Hawk County warrant for Failure to Appear for an IDAP Hearing for an original charge of Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury.
