On September 18, 2013 at 9:00 a.m., Oelwein Officers arrested Erik Dwayne Hardin, age 49 of Oelwein on a Fayette County Sheriff’s warrant for Violation of Pretrial Release with original charges of Going Armed With Intent and Assault With Use or Display of a Weapon. Hardin was arrested in the 200 block of South Frederick in Oelwein.

On September 18, 2013 at 3:30 p.m., Oelwein Officers arrested David Eugene Matthews, age 25 of Oelwein on a Fayette County Sheriff’s warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree. Matthews was taken into custody at a residence in the 10 block of 4th Street NW in Oelwein.

On September 18, 2013 at 4:40 p.m., Oelwein Officers were patrolling the 100 block of West Charles in Oelwein and encountered an individual known to have an active arrest warrant from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. Officers arrested Travis Michael Owens, age 22 of Oelwein on the warrant for an original charge of Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree. Owens has also been charged with Willful Injury, a Class “C” Felony, stemming from an Oelwein Police Department incident in the early morning hours of September 13, 2013.
